Middlebury, Indiana Fall Festival – Letter to Attendees from Middlebury Fall Festival Committee:

Middlebury Fall Festival, September 11 and 12.

Tough Times Don’t Last But Tough Towns Do” September in Middlebury, Indiana, announces the indispensable annual fall festival.

This year’s Fall Festival will look a little different due to the pandemic. However, the festival will be as “homegrown” as ever!

The festival takes place in Downtown Middlebury Parks, September 11 and 12. Attendees must enter Memorial Park at the park’s main entrance and exit in the park’s rear, near the old Baptist Church.

Although the festival will downsize, old favorites remain the same; homegrown vegetables and fruits, pumpkins, ornamental gourds, colorful fall mums, local woodcarvers in action, pottery, and Amish art.

Bring your lawn chairs to the downtown parks and tap your foot to spirited music entertainment throughout the weekend.

At dusk, don’t miss the drive-in movie, an opening act for the incredible Friday night fireworks on the Essenhaus Inn campus’s grounds.

Join the annual Saturday, Corn Hole Tournament held at high noon in East Park. Attendees must enter East Park at the main park entrance and exit in the rear of the park.

Order to-go Bar-B-Que, Bristol Street (adjacent to Middlebury Fire Department), “Caring Hands” fundraiser.

Let’s not forget to grab our favorite Amish fried pie, kettle corn, wood-fired pizza, or corn on the cob from the Music Parents Association.

All downtown shops will be open extended hours during the festival for shopping convenience. Visit the new General Store, located in downtown Middlebury. Welcome General Store of Middlebury!

Please note:

  • Please stay at home if ill or part of a vulnerable population.
  • Bring lawn chairs– due to pandemic this year’s seating for entertainment tent, is eliminated.
  • Festival sites will request the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance for COVID-19 social distancing and masks. Should you arrive at the festival without your face covering, you may purchase masks at the information gazebo.
  • Please take advantage of the hand sanitizing/handwashing stations while attending the festival.
  • If you plan to attend the Friday night movie and fireworks on the Essenhaus Inn campus’s grounds and arrive with a social pod, please remain in your vehicle and with your pod, in designated area.
  • Staff and signage will remind those attending the festival events to follow CDC Guidelines. Please know, not following CDC Guidelines will leave officials with no other choice but to cancel the festival.

If festival staff or Middlebury businesses explain what they’re doing to combat COVID-19, take heed and trust they have your safety in mind. We’re living in a new normal, and even though our new greeting norm may look different, familiar faces are excited to have you back at the festival in 2020.
